Tour The Poncan Theatre
A National Register Property
The Poncan Theatre opened her doors on Sept. 20, 1927. Originally designed by the preeminent theatre designers, the Boiler Brothers, who were known for their imaginative and opulent designs, the theatre is an excellent of the Spanish Colonial Revival Style. The Poncan Theatre is proud of several original features that have survived to this day which include most aspects of the exterior, plus the interior chandeliers and fire curtain.
During a massive restoration, over thirty different hand painted lobby movie posters from the 1930’s and other printed advertisements from the 1940’s were discovered in a long forgotten closet. They now decorate the lobby and mezzanine walls.
